The parotid gland is the largest salivary gland located in front of and below the ear. When a lump (tumor) develops in this parotid gland, the treatment to safely remove it is parotid tumor surgery. About 80% of parotid tumors are benign (such as pleomorphic adenoma, Warthin tumor, etc.), but as they can increase in size over time or some may turn malignant (cancer), the standard practice is to remove them through surgery.
Treatment information is for reference only and may vary depending on individual conditions. For accurate details, please consult with the facility.
