Many people know they should get a scaling, but have put it off because the sound and vibration when instruments touch the teeth feel uncomfortable.
Airflow scaling is a method of cleaning the tooth surface by spraying water, air, and fine powder instead of scraping with instruments.

What is Airflow scaling?
Biofilm (a bacterial film) that is hard to see and stains caused by coffee, tea, and smoking build up on the tooth surface.
Air Flow manages the tooth surface cleanly by spraying a mixture of fine powder, water, and air.
Unlike traditional scaling, because the process of instruments directly contacting the teeth is minimized,
the sound and vibration felt during the procedure are less than with regular scaling.
Hard-to-reach areas for a toothbrush, such as between teeth or the gumline, can also be carefully managed.
Difference from regular scaling
Regular scaling removes hardened tartar with instruments, whereas
Air Flow is mainly used to clean surface stains and biofilm.
Since the appropriate method varies depending on oral condition, we will advise after diagnosis whether Air Flow alone is sufficient or whether regular scaling or gum treatment is also needed.
