This is a LASEK surgery that corrects the corneal surface using the iRES excimer laser from iVIS. It does not involve creating a corneal flap, and the feasibility of the surgery and the amount of correction are determined by checking corneal thickness, shape, and the degree of myopia and astigmatism through a precise pre-operative examination. After the surgery, time is required for the corneal epithelium to recover, and the speed of recovery and the time for vision stabilization vary depending on the individual.
Treatment information is for reference only and may vary depending on individual conditions. For accurate details, please consult with the facility.
Recommended for
- For those who want to reduce the inconvenience of wearing glasses or contact lenses
- For those considering vision correction methods that do not involve creating a corneal flap
- For those who frequently engage in exercise or outdoor activities and are concerned about issues related to corneal flaps.
- Those who can secure time for rest for early post-operative recovery
Procedure Benefits
- Use of iRES laser: The iVIS iRES excimer laser is used to correct the corneal surface.
- Flapless method: Since no corneal flap is created, complications such as flap displacement or folding can be avoided.
- Personalized correction plan: We determine the amount of correction and the surgical plan by checking corneal thickness, shape, and the degree of myopia and astigmatism.
- Post-operative follow-up care: The cost of post-operative care for vision correction is included for 3 months from the date of surgery, and the recovery status will be monitored.
Risks and Notes
- Postoperative pain, foreign body sensation, glare, dry eye, light sensitivity (halos/starbursts), visual fluctuation, corneal haze, infection, and under-correction or over-correction may occur, and recovery time varies by individual. - Use eye drops as prescribed and do not remove the protective contact lens on your own. - Be careful not to rub your eyes or allow water or foreign substances to enter them, and protect your eyes from UV rays when going outdoors. - Please follow the medical staff's instructions regarding when to resume face washing, eye makeup, swimming, exercise, and driving. - If you experience sudden vision loss, worsening pain, redness, or discharge, please contact the hospital immediately.
LASEK using the iVIS iRES Excimer Laser Our clinic performs LASEK surgery using the iVIS iRES Excimer Laser. This method involves removing the corneal epithelium without creating a corneal flap, followed by correcting the corneal surface with a laser. Before the surgery, we conduct a precise examination to check corneal thickness, shape, and the degree of myopia and astigmatism to determine eligibility for surgery and the amount of correction required. After the surgery, we manage the progress by monitoring the recovery of the corneal epithelium and changes in visual acuity.
