We specialize in the treatment of eczema, specifically atopic dermatitis. For patients with atopic dermatitis and chronic eczema, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of their current skin condition, duration of the disease, primary symptoms, and existing treatments or medications. Based on the individual patient's condition, we establish a Korean medicine-based diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan to determine the course of care. International patients may receive a preliminary consultation via photos and medical records before their visit, as well as online follow-up consultations after returning home.
Treatment information is for reference only and may vary depending on individual conditions. For accurate details, please consult with the facility.
Recommended for
- For those who are struggling with daily life due to atopic dermatitis or chronic eczema, those who wish to manage it from a young age, or those who would like a comprehensive evaluation of their past treatment history.
Procedure Benefits
- After checking the patient's current skin condition, we will establish a treatment plan and continuously monitor skin changes; you can return to your daily activities immediately after the procedure without a separate recovery period.
Risks and Notes
Most treatments for atopic dermatitis or eczema have traditionally focused on suppression. Our treatment approach involves healing lesions through skin detoxification; therefore, when suppressive medications are discontinued, previously stabilized lesions may emerge. There is a process where these symptoms initially flare up before reaching a peak and then improving. This is called an 'expression' (or manifestation) phase, and the appearance of the symptoms during this time varies depending on the severity of the condition. This process is not a side effect, but rather a manifestation of the healing process. Further details can be found on our website.
Personalized Traditional Korean Medicine treatment for atopic dermatitis and chronic eczema Sae-si-gye Korean Medicine Clinic checks not only the current skin condition of patients with atopic dermatitis and chronic eczema, but also the onset period, changes in symptoms, previous treatments, medications taken, itching, and difficulties in sleep and daily life. Based on the consultation and diagnosis results, a personalized treatment plan based on the Saehim System is established, and changes in skin and lifestyle conditions are continuously monitored. The duration and progress of treatment may vary depending on the patient's age, skin condition, medical history, and previous treatments.
How does the consultation process work? 1. Submission of materials before your visit Please send us the patient's age, main symptoms and affected areas, onset date, previous treatments, current medications, and skin photos that clearly show the test results and the date they were taken. 2. Review of preliminary materials We will review the materials you provided to prepare for your visit to Korea. Please note that this preliminary review does not guarantee a definitive diagnosis or treatment outcome. 3. In-person consultation and assessment After arriving in Korea, we will assess your current skin condition and overall health through a consultation and physical examination. 4. Development of a personalized treatment plan Based on the assessment results, we will provide you with a treatment plan tailored to your condition and a follow-up schedule.
Pre-consultation and follow-up care for international patients International patients can receive a pre-consultation by sending photos of their skin and relevant medical records before visiting Korea. Please include the patient's country and time zone, the affected area, duration of symptoms, current and past treatments, medications taken, and relevant test results in the materials. After the in-person visit, we continue to provide necessary consultations by checking the patient's skin condition, itching, sleep, and changes in daily life online after they return home. Online consultations cannot replace a definitive diagnosis or emergency medical care.
We will continuously monitor the treatment process and progress. During the treatment period, we will observe changes in the scope and severity of symptoms, itching, oozing, dryness, sleep patterns, and daily life through regular skin photography and consultations. If necessary, the treatment plan will be adjusted based on the patient's condition and clinical judgment. Treatment response and duration vary by individual, and specific results are not guaranteed. In the event of sudden shortness of breath, symptoms suggestive of a severe infection, or other emergency symptoms, you must seek immediate medical attention at a nearby local medical facility.
