LASEK is a vision correction surgery that improves refractive errors such as myopia and astigmatism by separating the corneal epithelium and then precisely correcting the cornea with an excimer laser. Unlike LASIK, it is a surface ablation method that does not create a corneal flap, which allows for vision correction while better preserving the corneal structure. Because it requires a period for the corneal epithelium to recover after surgery, visual recovery may be slightly slower than with LASIK or SMILE.
Treatment information is for reference only and may vary depending on individual conditions. For accurate details, please consult with the facility.
Recommended for
- For those who find LASIK burdensome due to relatively thin corneas
- Individuals in professions involving high levels of physical activity or exposure to external impact, such as soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and athletes.
- For those who find wearing glasses or contact lenses uncomfortable due to myopia or astigmatism
- Individuals who are looking for alternative vision correction methods because other procedures such as LASIK or SMILE are not suitable for them.
