Vision correction surgery without corneal ablation ECHO ICL is an Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery procedure (ICL) that corrects myopia and astigmatism by inserting a specially crafted lens into the eye. Unlike LASIK or LASEK, it corrects vision by inserting a lens into the eye without cutting the cornea. The surgery is performed by selecting a lens tailored to the individual's eye condition and prescription, and it can be considered even for those who are not candidates for laser vision correction due to thin corneas or high myopia. ※ ICL is not suitable for everyone; eligibility for the surgery must be confirmed through a comprehensive examination, including an assessment of anterior chamber depth and the condition of the cornea, iris, crystalline lens, and retina.
Treatment information is for reference only and may vary depending on individual conditions. For accurate details, please consult with the facility.
Recommended for
- For those considering vision correction due to high myopia or astigmatism
- For those who are not candidates for LASIK or LASEK due to thin corneas
- For those who are uncomfortable with vision correction surgery that involves corneal ablation.
- For those who want to be free from the discomfort of glasses or contact lenses
- For those who wish to undergo vision correction while preserving the cornea
Risks and Notes
After ICL surgery, you may temporarily experience glare, halos, a foreign body sensation, redness, or dryness. Rarely, complications such as increased intraocular pressure, inflammation, lens malposition, or cataracts may occur, and these vary depending on the individual's eye condition. After surgery, you must use the prescribed eye drops according to the medical staff's instructions and be careful not to rub or press on your eyes. Additionally, in the early stages after surgery, it is recommended to avoid activities that may irritate the eyes, such as swimming, saunas, or strenuous exercise. If you experience sudden vision loss, severe pain, severe redness, or visual disturbances, you must notify the medical staff immediately.
